you win some, you lose some

i guess i’ve finally gotten over the loss. and i certainly refuse to bring myself to tears over a piece of headphone. remembering how i used to take it for granted irritates the shit out of me. oh well. things could be worse. other people lose their lives, their virginity, their marriage. i only lost my headphone.

i have a new gnupg key.

http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?search=amerei%40gmail.com&op=index

get it. sign it. still hot.

at the internet access area
i sat infront of the machine assigned to me looking for the familiar windows start button and instead, i saw a “foot” with matching desktop pagers.

…made me shout inside. holy fuck!? this is gnome!

curious, i fired up the terminal…

student@f4new:~$ cat /etc/$(ls /etc | grep -i release)
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=5.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=hoary
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION=\"Ubuntu (The Hoary Hedgehog Release)\"
student@f4new:~$
impressive! now all i need is for a hot chick to seat beside me so i can show her how to finger, cat and grep. perhaps i’ll dream about that tonight.

past what the fucks

i’ve been rather quiet in the last of couple of days first, coz last week was midterms week and i’m taking two math and two cs majors this semester… juggling with these four subjects has been a total drag. but past is past, even if i’m still living in it.

my parents were infuriated over the construction of our new neighbor’s gate. apparently, the engineer overseeing the construction of their house forgot about the existence of a right of way, pushed through with the original design and built an extension stair (about two steps total) leading up to the elevation where the gate is. what kind of retard forgets a thing like that? the dummest one. anyhoo, they destroyed the stairs at the request of my dad. now, their stairless knee high elevated gate is uglier than ever… and pretty much useless too. again, past is past.

recently, another construction issue has been brought up. this time, about his exhaust holes. ok, we now understand that this asshole, in his efforts to avoid flood come rainy season built his house on much higher ground than everyone else’s, built his gates higher than everyone else’s so that flood from outside can’t come in, and bored two holes in his gate to act as drainage for the water stuck in his property. (water seeks low ground dammit!)

i can’t wait to see the look on that sucker’s face once we pop his doorstep with another complaint about his exhaust holes draining towards the right of way (and possibly flooding the entire compound’s only way out) mom told us to wait till the construction is done… such genius! a diabolic plan to add insult to injury.

for now, he pledged to cement the right of way. sure, the mud will be gone…. but i’m more concerned about my socks getting wet when i go to school..

thirdly, our t.v. set is busted and this is a predicament. how the fuck am i supposed to watch desperate housewives now!? we asked the cable company to temporarily stop their services too coz we’re practically just handing them over money for nothing.

fourthly, merged gcc-3.3.5.20050130-r1 but encountered an error when i compiled sylpheed-claws:

libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.3/libstdc++.la'

heaven amerei # fix_libtool_files.sh 3.3.3 somehow did the trick. then again, past is past.

as of the moment, i’m …

1) downloading this game.

2) looking for reasons to write a fanfiction about starcraft, one of my favorite games.

3) trying to get back on track with gtk.

horoscopes and what they tell me

wasted, at 5 0 clock in the morning .. i stranded towards friendster to check some girls out. took screenshots for the unbeliever while i’m at it also.

joint horoscopes

miss lynlyn: screenshot

catch up on things. call her at home. use your math homework as an excuse if you have to! :)

miss che: screenshot

she’s definitely a source of inspiration… anytime. whatever you do, don’t talk about the weather coz that’s very lame.

miss iris cristy: screenshot

tell her she’s beautiful and do it in a nice way! she has no bad traits anyway so it’s basically safe to describe her and all..

miss ana: screenshot

your dear anna has always been very good to you despite the fact that you treated her badly everytime you two are together. grow the hell up!

miss steph: screenshot

you can’t keep on blowing off a goddess like her forever. stop being a jerk and just surrender. talk to her. smile at her. hold her hand for pete’s sake! just remember, you’re not running for mayor.

the belle of the ball, miss berns: screenshot

fan the flames of love with high octane jet fuel. nothing to it…

as a freebie to myself, screenshot. oh please god! make someone taste me.

my own horoscopes :

1) i’m too old to believe in these kinds of nonsense. stars don’t make your future. you do.
2) love and friendship over pride and bitterness
3) get a life.

it’s not wrong to hate stupid people

to: varun@cooltechzone.com

dear linux hating jerkoff,

first and foremost, i’d like to say that your article is one of the most worthless pieces of crap i’ve ever read. do you even have a clue of what you’re saying?

"I hate Linux. I think it’s the most over rated piece of software ever built and survives simply out of spite and not because it is terribly good at doing something because it is not!"

"…most of the people developing Linux probably sit at night writing up malicious code for windows!"

"In a nutshell, it’s not so much as that the software is secure; it’s simply that no one is interested in spending sleepless nights writing a virus that won’t give them the satisfaction they get from causing havoc."

"In Linux, you have to recompile a kernel if you want to so much as change your modem! Give me a break guys, Linux is light years behind Windows XP…"

"I do not for a moment think or believe they would be philanthropic and give away years of toil away for free or act in the best interests of everyone but themselves. It is about time we stopped being hypocritical and appreciated a job really well done."

when it comes right down to it, majority of flamers, whether coming from windows, or any other side for that matter are clueless, undereducated idiots. it is very evident, even to someone with only a slight background in computers that you're the type of schmuck who never even got past any linux installation, much less get any modem to work under it. who then goes around telling everyone that linux sucks coz "i wasn’t able to get it to work". perhaps you just lack the literacy, much worse, the common sense to understand documentations and manuals that comes with the package. perhaps you're just too damn lazy and complacent to do shit yourself. perhaps you're just too arrogant to look noobish. perhaps you haven't tasted semen for many days and you’re just looking for a way to release your frustration.

whatever your reasons are for writing your article, it doesn't change the fact that it's poorly written. if you plan on talking trash about something next time in a journalistic environment, try putting your proof where your mouth is. better yet, put it in your blog where people won't even care to visit anyway.

go buy a camera, plug it in your windows xp machine, make cheap porno out of yourself and sell it to bill gates you fag.

this is amerei, signing off.

linux 2.6.12-BernieLove and udev

this is supposed to be the part where i would put my teaser text.. but then i figured that even a brief introduction would prove confusing …

(more…)

out of my usual, daily what the fuck

yesterday, i recieved this .. (translated in english rather hastily)

you can hide the pain.
show people you’re ok.
but you can never hide to yourself
that the person who hurts you.
the one who makes you suffer the most.
is the one you fucking love!
hmm.. well maybe. I feel like hugging people now. Especially after miss steph waved goodbye at me last tuesday… (or i think she did)

painfully romantic.

gentoo subsystem upgrade

linux 2.6.12-bernielove takes center stage. totally loving udev… loving gensplash… semi-hating hotplug… hating nvidia-kernel more. lowly pentium3 box at home is back to normal working operation.

you taught me a lesson about love. and it’s more reassuring than any cardinal’s absolution.

thank you.
